About Me
Hey there! I’m Wasifa Ahmed — solo traveler, chai addict, passport stamp collector and proud Assamese girl who decided that the world was too big (and my hometown was too small) to stay in one place.
My first international trip? Age 7. My travel bug? Terminal. Blame my parents — they started this whole mess when they took me abroad as a kid. One plane ride and I was hooked. Cut to today: 30+ countries later, I’ve officially lost count of how many airport security lines I’ve survived (and how many boarding gates I’ve run toward while panicking).
What do I do?
Wander. Eat. Get lost. Find myself. Repeat.
I travel solo — not because I’m anti-social (okay, maybe a little) — but because there’s something wildly empowering about navigating the world on your own, especially as a woman from a place where solo travel isn’t exactly "the norm."
I’ve crossed borders with just a backpack, navigated night buses that felt more like rollercoasters, mimed entire conversations with strangers and learned that the world is far more kind than scary.
Why am I here (on this site, not like… existentially)?
To share what I’ve learned, mess up publicly, inspire some of you and hopefully make you laugh a little along the way.
This space is for real stories, honest advice, awkward moments, strong female energy and travel tips that don’t involve “just pack light and smile!” Because guess what? You can travel solo, be brown-skinned, female, introvert, anxious, confused — and still thrive on the road.
What’s next?
No clue. And that’s the fun part.
Stick around — I’ll be posting stories, photos, guides, fails, wins and everything in between. And if you ever need a push to buy that one-way ticket, just know: if I can do it, so can you.
